As Generative AI continues to transform the way businesses innovate and operate, the need for accessible, scalable, and enterprise-ready AI solutions is more urgent than ever. In response to this, Nawatech proudly led the recent Activate GenAI with Azure hackathon — a hands-on event designed to accelerate the practical adoption of GenAI technologies. In collaboration with two global tech leaders, Microsoft and NVIDIA, the event introduced participants not only to Microsoft Azure’s advanced AI capabilities but also to NVIDIA’s newest innovation: NVIDIA Inference Microservices (NIM).
The hackathon served as a practical deep dive into Microsoft Azure’s AI ecosystem, offering participants the opportunity to develop and deploy generative AI use cases in real time. Attendees were guided through key tools including Azure Machine Learning, Prompt Flow, and Azure OpenAI Service — learning how to build, test, and optimize large language models (LLMs) and generative applications with efficiency and precision.
What set this event apart was its emphasis on real-world implementation. Instead of abstract concepts or basic demos, participants were challenged to tackle real industry scenarios using Azure’s robust AI stack. The result was a series of rapid, high-impact prototypes that showcased how generative AI can be infused into workflows across sectors — from financial services to manufacturing and government services.Introducing NVIDIA NIM: Scalable AI at Your Fingertips
A major milestone in the hackathon was the introduction of NVIDIA NIM (NVIDIA Inference Microservices), a suite of easy-to-use, containerized inference services that simplify the deployment of pre-trained AI models. Built for performance and scalability, NIM allows developers to serve AI models with low latency, making it ideal for enterprise applications that demand high reliability and speed.
Participants explored how NVIDIA NIM could be seamlessly integrated with Microsoft Azure, enabling secure, optimized AI deployments directly into Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and other Azure environments. By combining Azure’s cloud-native AI capabilities with the model-serving power of NIM, the hackathon demonstrated a highly efficient pipeline from prototype to production — shortening development cycles and reducing operational overhead.
The Activate GenAI with Azure hackathon was more than just a technical event; it was a celebration of collaboration, curiosity, and the relentless pursuit of innovation. By uniting developers, AI enthusiasts, and cloud practitioners under one roof — and equipping them with the latest from Microsoft and NVIDIA — Nawatech reaffirmed its role as a catalyst for next-generation digital transformation in Indonesia and beyond.
This event aligns with Nawatech’s mission to go Beyond Engineering — delivering not just technology, but real-world impact through strategic partnerships and forward-thinking solutions. As the fields of Generative AI and cloud computing continue to evolve, we remain committed to empowering organizations with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in an intelligent, AI-driven future.
